it has been. a week. how boring.... every morning, i drag my ass outta bed, and shuffle about 20 paces to the bath. i stand under the shower, wanting magic 5 more minutes.... but it does not come. the blast of cold water hits me like a sledgehammer in the face. i shake my head in pain. i was awake, at least temporaily. clothes, jeans are an automatic 1st choice, then i dress according to my feelings in the morning. black, for tiredness and the amount of pictures and other colours determine the magnitude of my lethargy. i pause, and pick out the Hero shirt. 2 decals in the front, orangy, a logo on the back. Black. as i feel tired. i yell a couple of bye byes to my family, depending on who are awake. the finger reaches for the lift door button, Ding! my eyes droop a little. the bath apparently not doing it's work. i pace myself. out of the lift door, turn left, walk. walk. walk. walk. walk. the damn bus stop is so damn far, i mutter in mock anger. i look up towards the busstop and gasp. my arm instinctively reach for a grip onto my back as my legs start pumping, adrenaline already flowing through my brain. muscles stretch and release repeatedly as in speed directly towards the waiting 76. i clip a bike messenger with my bag, shouting sorry over the shoulder, i slow down for the remaining 3 metres. i get onto the bus, panting a little, tapped my card and found a seat next to a sleeping chinese man. i relax in the chair, and close my eyes as a small fit of sleep consumes me.
The bus journey is brief and uneventful, and i get at least 10 minutes of uninterrupted sleep. body clock rings. i wake up, and find myself one bus stop away from the 154 busstop. discman. headsets and remote are all thrown into the bag. i lift myself heavily out of the seat, legs still feeling a little strained. maybe that malay boy's foot into my knee was the cause, i wouldn't know. but. it hurts. i rub my face. and rouse from myself fully from slumber. The bus just won't come. i've already been waiting for 30 minutes. a bus peeks around the corner. i raise my head, stiffly pulling at the collar of my shirt. 1------5-------4. my face breaks out in a smile. i flag the bus and clamber on board as it stops 2 metres after it passes me. i knock out as soon as i sit down with Vertical horizon singing into my ears.
